In the News...
Microsoft withdrew its support for a bill in Washington State that would have extended protection to gays and lesbians against discrimination in housing, employment, and business, even though Microsoft has in the past supported gay rights and won awards for it. I first heard about this from the Scoble blog though others read it in The Stranger and later NYTimes, as well as Queerday and HRC. Other bloggers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) are adding their support for equality. The bill for equal rights failed to pass.
At the same time, Spain passed laws protecting rights of gays and lesbians.
